Lonely Shoe
Lonely Shoe
What story has this shoe to tell?
It surely doesn’t look too well,
it shows the first signs of decay,
lying there not far from the way,
where shoppers hurry to and fro,
but do they see it? No!
To whom did this red shoe belong?
Was it a girl with a happy song
on her lips and a soul full of bliss?
A girl maybe anxious for her first kiss?
Hurrying to the boy of her dreams,
but a little too eager, as it seems,
she lost the shoe in all this haste,
but since there was no time to waste,
because she was already late for the appointment,
she left it there, and on she went
to meet her oh so handsome prince.
She hasn’t been seen ever since.
She didn’t come back to pick up her shoe,
Which now lies there to mystify you.
